Persistent Complex Bereavement Disorder

The loss of a loved one affects all aspects of bereaved individuals' present and future functioning and can be severely disruptive to their psychological health if not properly resolved. The focus of this course is to provide insight into unresolved or complicated grief, now called persistent complex bereavement disorder or PCBD, and offer ways of working through such grief with clients.

The course outlines different forms of unresolved grief and includes a review of symptoms, causes, and diagnostic tools for assessing it. Numerous counseling techniques used for working with PCBD are also covered.
